today was a fun day. work has been crazzy busy this week, in a good way. today i had lots of running around to different agencies, studios etc. one of those places included the chateau marmont a 1920's hotel on sunset. i was there to help wrap up and pack up a shoot. i walk into the penthouse #29 on the second floor where the set is just wrapping and out of the norm the talent is still there at this point finalizing what seemed to be a video blog of sorts. but anyway. i walk in and there stands victoria beckham talking to a small handicam while her son sits on the couch playing with spiderman action figures. so yes i saw posh spice today. it was fun being a part of something of that caliber.

ok. thats all for now. still on the hunt for an apartment.

i looked at a couple studio apartments today. i liked them. they were uber hot! i'd have to figure out how to finagle a room ac unit into them... but i did enjoy them. i'm looking at another one closer to work tomorrow. please pray that it works out cause so far everything i've seen about it is perfect. its close to work. its reasonably priced, its cute it has ac and all utilites paid... its too good... lets pray that God opens this last door for me to get settled and comfortable out here.

i moved from what is affectionally called the "green house" today. this is where i've been staying for the past two weeks. the girl who's room i was crashing in came home and i now am moving on to my friend tylers place who is in italy for the next 3 weeks. it will be good. i'm staying with his friend wes who is also crashing there. i'm actually excited cause i found out that there is actually air conditioning that work, unbeknown to those who were living there... ha! i'm glad i try things!!!

anyway. i'm trying to be better about posting.

its about time.

i'd say its about time for a blog update yes? a few have requested and i have been very much a slacker.

i'd love to give a huge post with all that has been happening the past 2 weeks since i got to la, but i'm not sure how thorough i'm going to be. i think i'll break it out into sections and lists.

the trip.

took 4 days.

drove to chicago and stayed with josh and hannah (and suzy and ezra were visiting as well)

drove to nebraska and stayed with suzy's husband caleb at their house in lincoln.

drove all across nebraska to denver (nebraska is green, but flat and boring).

stayed with greg ruby and emily (his wife). went to a picnic for one of their friends in their small group.

drove to vegas. a long drive! colorado was gorgeous. i've been before, but just loved the drive through the mountains. utah was barren and LONG, but at times quite beautiful in its own way.

got to vegas at night. that was the best part of vegas, driving in at night and seeing all i mean ALL the lights!

walked around vegas... very tired, and not the most fun when you are alone. stayed at circus circus in one of their cheapest rooms, it was much needed though!

drove across the mojave into pasadena, it was a HOT day!!

i arrived.

the new job.

i like it.

i don't do the most glamorous things every day. but its fun. i work with some really cool people and am somehow or another involved in the creation of really great imagery. part of my job requires me to drive around la delivering photo equipment to and from different studios. so i get to see some fun parts of la and meet some great people. we supply digital equipment and experience for high fashion photoshoots. i'm sure i'll have better stories about that soon. but work has been good and i've worked more than planned so i have yet to have to get a second job (ie: starbucks). i also have had leads on some freelance work as well as have been scheduled to work as a second assistant for a guy in town doing some shoot for disney. i'll be able to fill in more on that later.

the apartment hunt.

this is the worst thing ever. its like a full time job out here trying to find that right place that fits your budget and is close enough to your primary work place. i have had a heck of a time and have been running across a lot of "FAKE" craigslist postings. its quite disappointing cause they get your hopes up and then you are let down by their attempts to scam you out of something. blah. but its looking up. keep this in your prayers! i think i may have some good leads today that i'm going to go check out after work (which is at 11am since i came in at 5 am today! :/ )

ok. thats a pretty good post wouldn't you say. i'll try to do better and give you some fun tidbits about la life rather than rundowns of what i'm doing with work etc!

new job. day one.

ok. i have a lot to blog about. i have just completed basically a cross country journey. and let me say it was an intense must do trip. i hope to update with a few pictures and lots of fun info on my stops in chicago, nebraska, denver and las vegas.

i just got down to west hollywood. am actually sitting at a starbucks on hollywood since i arrived early. had to be safe seeing this was my first day driving in rush hour traffic. it really wasn't that horrible. not as one would expect. plus i realized i could've been in a different lane for about 10 minutes, so i woulda made it in 30 rather than 40 min. not bad.

i'm not entirely sure what to expect today. i know i'll be doing paper work, and probably be shown all the ins and outs. its been awhile since i had a new job to get acquainted with.

i parked in the same parking lot i did for my interview. i forgot to ask if they had a parking structure... so that is definitely on the need to know list today!

well. i can't update. still not sure why starbucks hasn't joined the free wireless bandwagon yet, so no updating till later and i'll add more to what the day brought.

i WILL add more. but right now i'm too exhausted!
